The plastic MBBR media provides increased surface area for colonies of beneficial micro‑organisms to attach and grow. The media is continuously agitated by aeration, which transports oxygen to the biofilm. Constant movement exfoliates old biofilm layers, keeping the media self‑cleaning and highly efficient.
